Go rustic/classy
The Snooty Fox, near Three Oaks, can't be that snooty when, for about $100, you get your own knotty pine cottage and yet can gather with the rest of the gang in the shared lodge Cabins are billed as rustic because there's a short walk to bathrooms -- still private and fully plumbed, but separate from the sleeping space. Inside, your cottage resembles a quaint tree house with its two queen beds -- one in a vaulted loft -- and screened porches. Come sunset, you're a 3/4-mile hike to a Lake Michigan beach and just down the road from Warren Dunes State Park. And there is added incentive all season (April-October). Stay three nights and get the fourth free, or five nights and get the sixth and seventh free. Info: snootyfox.com, (269) 469-1805. -
